About Us

Welcome to Porthole Adventures!

We are Rosalyn and Greg, and have been married  for four years. We discovered a mutual love of travel after planning a destination wedding on the beaches of Punta Cana. Together we have shared 2,863 days, 48 cities, 33 beaches, 30 airplanes, 27 countries, 24 boats, 15 airports, 14 cruises, 13 cruise ships, 11 trains, 9 states, almost 8 years, 6 land-based vacations, 3 continents, 2 passports, 1 never-ending adventure, and now, 1 pandemic!

Many of our stories focus on exploring the world in 6-8 hour increments – the average time a cruise ship is in port.

Not all of our vacations are on a cruise ship, but many are. We found cruising to be a great way to see the world.

You should still find our tips and tools helpful, though, whether visiting a destination as part of a land-based vacation or as porthole adventures of your own.

So follow our escapades, and let them inspire your next adventures!

When I started planning our trips, I found very few resources for what to do in the cruise ports outside of shore excursions sold by the ship.

Along the way, I found a passion for researching and planning trip itineraries. Now, I want to share that with you, and hopefully provide more resources as you plan your trips to these destinations, whether porthole adventures as part of a cruise, or a land-based vacation that allows you more time in each place.

Be sure to check out the sample itineraries for ideas for planning your own trips!
